How is a breast lift procedure performed?

The most common breast lift technique involves an incision around the areola and down the breast. The incision outlines the area where breast skin will be removed, defining a new location for the nipple. After excess skin is removed, the nipple and areola are moved to a higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought down and together, to reshape the breast. Patients with little sagging and smaller breasts may require less extensive incisions, like the “doughnut (or concentric) mastopexy” procedure, in which circular incisions are made around the areola, and a doughnut-shaped area of skin is removed.

Am I a candidate for a breast lift?

The best candidate for a breast lift is an individual who is in overall good health, is a non-smoker, has a positive outlook and specific, realistic expectations for their breast reduction surgery.

How long does a breast lift surgery take?

The duration of breast reduction surgery is approximately two hours.

Most patients are able to resume their regular activities in about two weeks.

Is breast lift surgery painful?
